Just...

Thoughts flitting by my mind...

1. Is it possible to be without thought? To just be? Like when you first see the sunrise... just SEE it. Not judge it. Not comment on it. Not even an 'It's SO beautiful!' That one moment of no thought is what I live for!

2. Isn't the state of the mind attention? Isn't thought inattention? What is it to be in attention?

3. What is hurt? YOU are feeling the hurt... it was your reaction to someone or something. You can choose to be or not to be hurt. It's a choice. So, why hurt yourself at all? Unless you're completely masochistic? :)

4. When you're feeling something, feel it COMPLETELY. And watch yourself feeling it. Don't oppose it. Don't intellectualise it. Just feel it. And in that feeling and observation of the feeling, notice what happens. The feeling may dissolve, disappear. Or it may grow stronger. But the important thing is to observe.

Waking Life

I watched this movie, 'Waking Life', some months back and it is THE most thought-provoking movie I have EVER seen. It weaves together issues like appearance and reality, free will, our relationships with others, and the meaning of life. Along the way the film touches on other topics including existentialism, situationist politics, posthumanity, and the film theory of André Bazin.

Also, the imagery in the movie is BEAUTIFUL! It was made using Rotoshop and the effect is brilliant!

A technical masterpiece and a bizzare yet amazingly beautiful and indecipherable story. VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Pensive... in one of my moods.

I sit with my knees up close to my body,
A certain sense of stillness pervades my consciousness.
And a little teardrop, like a silver fairy,
Rolls down a face brimming with sadness.

But then the moonlight catches
The beauty of a flower,
Bright yellow, like the sun,
Yet soft and gentle like a dropping feather.

And just then a thought,
Like a child peering into a room of toys,
Flits into my mind.
And brings with it memories of people loved and adored,
As close to my heart as my own soul.

And in that one moment of reality,
I recognised what I had long sought,
Found what I had most wanted
And got what I had most needed-
Sublime joy that never dies.
P.S. The picture was taken in The Valley School, KFI, Bangalore.

Bonjour!

Hello everybody!!!
Some little bird twittered some encouragement in my ear some days back and here I am to supply some cud to chew... :) So, be on the lookout for some (hopefully) interesting posts in the coming days!
Au revoir!

P.S. The picture is one of Mumbai's Chowpatti Beach. Breathtaking in real life, diminished in magnificence yet beautiful on reel.
